1965年，在明家豪華的大廳中，明家夫妻舉行七周年結(jié)婚紀(jì)念晚會(huì)，并亮出他們結(jié)婚七周年的紀(jì)念品，名叫“藍(lán)色火焰”的鉆石項(xiàng)鏈。散會(huì)時(shí)，兩名中年侍者阿九和陳天洋盜取“藍(lán)色火焰”，并放火燒毀明家巨宅，明家夫妻葬身火海，他們?nèi)龤q的兒子明亮成為孤兒，幸得遠(yuǎn)親明車水相助，把明亮帶回新加坡?lián)嵊L(zhǎng)大。明亮長(zhǎng)大后，精明強(qiáng)干，在消防局任小隊(duì)長(zhǎng)。一日，富家千金江水靈為救在屋頂?shù)墓诽摶鹁?，明亮發(fā)現(xiàn)被騙，命令收隊(duì)。江水靈寫投拆信給明亮的上司，明亮與水靈終起沖突。
